This is why...

You should check on your 2 year old if she sounds like she is having fun during naptime.

Somehow she managed to get everything off and fall asleep. Thank goodness she wakes up dry, so at least I didn't have to change the sheets. :)

Some day she is going to really hate that I did this. But today I think it's pretty funny.

Check your mail..

Maddy decided that she needs to get out, so she got herself ready for the mailman to come and get her.

Maddy is going through a phase now where she likes to carry as many things as possible around with her. One day she decided it would be better to use a bucket. Here is a little sample of her antics.

Landscaping, and Gymnastics

We had the yard landscaped this week and I really like it. They did a great job!

Here's the front of the house- this used to be all ivy and the green bushes in the back (the box woods).

Still the front just a different angle.

The swing set- we had them put bark around it. It was starting to turn to mud under the swings and hopefully this is softer.

We had gymnastics today and not only did I remember the camera I also remembered to take pictures!

The little girl you see (after Maddy) is Miriam she is Miss Leah's daughter and a she doesn't really understand why she can't have her mom all the time. She kind of reminds me of Mariah from Pre-school in Everett. (Stacy- do you think its the pseudo mullet that reminds me of her?)The other girl with Maddy is Lilly, I think she plays football with her dad.

Here is Maddy swinging from the rings.

Climbing the wall.

She is really good and I think she really likes it alot.

Some random videos of Maddy being goofy.

Maddy's favorite game- "What comes next?"

The worst part of the blog is trying to come up with titles for the entries

So in the last week we have has some crazy weather. Last weekend we had major thunderstorms and our first real tornado warning. A tiny tornado touched down in Mundeline about 1 1/2 miles from here. Maddy and I hung out in the closet under the stairs (FYI in case our house falls down). She loved it. Go figure. We also have had rain rain and more rain. But all this week has been above 70 degrees. Yesterday was really nice an today seemed really great too. However, we are now under a flash flood warning and another tornado watch.

Maddy had her first gymnastics class and she had a blast we can't wait for next week.

We are having our deck re-stained. And on Sunday we are having a landscaping company come and clean up the yard. So I have to cram and learn what kinds of plants grow in Illinois so we can add some color to the yard.

What we've been up to.

Yeah yeah I know I haven't posted in a long time. I wish it could be because we were really busy but we weren't. Maybe (alright probably) I was just being lazy. So here's the haps for the last couple of weeks.

We spent Memorial Day at the Aquatic Center- that's the fancy name for the neighborhood pool. It's wasn't terribly warm so we had a lot of the space all to ourselves. Maddy LOVES it there. If I say anything about swimming she runs around and tries to find her swimming suit (or snow suit that's what she calls her swimming suit)

The following weekend (last weekend) my friends Kate and Carolyn came for a visit and we had loads of fun. It started with the tornado warning south of Chicago that delayed their flight 2 1/2 hours. Then the weather was perfect not to hot not too humid.

Saturday we took a harbor cruise on Lake Michigan to look at the skyline (or was it a something else?) Inside, joke but its too funny not to share. Here we are minding our own business on the boat and this girl next to us was standing (why I don't know there was plenty of room to sit) and her itty bitty skirt is flying all around unbeknownest to her. Poor Nate turned and got an eyeful of stripped panties, not much embarrasses Nate but I think this did. So then she finally notices her skirt flying all over and tried to hold it down but it was so windy I guess she just gave up. One of my friends, I'm not saying who, has pictures of the panties with maybe the Chicago skyline in the background. I know we are going to hell.

On Sunday we went to a suburb south of Chicago called Naperville to check out the area because there is a possibility that Kate's husband could get a job in this area. The town was super cute and we had a good time just walking on the River walk and playing at the playground. The highlight of Sunday was going to Ted's Montana Grill where the burgers are fantastic.

Monday Nate left for a business trip in Miami and Kate and Carolyn headed home.

So that's it not much happening, now you see why I haven't been updating this blog. ;o)
